Uninstall Rsat Windows 10

On Windows 10, open the Settings app, go to Manage optional features, select and uninstall the specific RSAT tools you wish to remove. Note that in some cases, you will need to manually uninstall dependencies. Specifically, if RSAT tool A is needed by RSAT tool B, then choosing to uninstall RSAT tool A will fail if RSAT tool B is still installed. In this case, uninstall RSAT tool B first, and then uninstall RSAT tool A. Also note that in some cases, uninstalling an RSAT tool may appear to succeed even though the tool is still installed. In this case, restarting the PC will complete the removal of the tool.

Resolution: In some cases, uninstallation failures are due to the need to manually uninstall dependencies. Specifically, if RSAT tool A is needed by RSAT tool B, then choosing to uninstall RSAT tool A will fail if RSAT tool B is still installed. In this case, uninstall RSAT tool B first, and then uninstall RSAT tool A. See the list of RSAT FODs including dependencies.

Some Windows updates are installed as permanent so that we cannot remove them via general method, when you wan to use powershell command to remove this type of package, you will see the error message "Permanent Package cannot be uninstalled."

I'm having a similar issue. I can't remove any of the following due to same issue:Rsat.ActiveDirectory.DS-LDS.Tools0.0.1.0Rsat.FileServices.Tools0.0.1.0Rsat.GroupPolicy.Management.Tools0.0.1.0Rsat.ServerManager.Tools0.0.1.0I'm not sure how you were able to uninstall FileServices but I can't. Clearly there are some dependencies that are simply not clear.I looked at the mum files in c:\windows\servicing\packages, and the only ones that have permanence=permanent are all Package_#somenumber#_for_#someKBNumber#. None of the packages that appear to be related to the RSAT tools (e.g. Microsoft-Windows-ActiveDirectory-DS-LDS-Tools-FoD-Package31bf3856ad364e35amd6410.0.18362.1.mum) have this permanence set. After running the remove-windowscapability cmd with both -verbose and -debug parameters, I noticed my C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log log, referenced the C:\WINDOWS\logs\cbs\cbs.log so I went digging.The CBS log seems to suggest the FileServices package is depended on by another package, which is not even installed currently (it was removed successfully prior). That package is the Microsoft-Windows-FailoverCluster-Management-Tools-FOD-*** package, which I assume is the RSAT.FailoverCluster.Management.Tools0.0.1.0 feature that I was able to remove earlier. I don't see any other *failover* FOD.

To silently uninstall an application from this list, you may use the command below: var quads_screen_width = document.body.clientWidth;if ( quads_screen_width >= 1140 ) if ( quads_screen_width >= 1024 && quads_screen_width = 768 && quads_screen_width

In order to remove a program on a remote computer, add the -ComputerName option. For example, to uninstall Microsoft Office on a remote computer, run the command below:$apps = Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Product -ComputerName wkmn-man23 where name -Like "Office 16 Click-to-Run*"$apps.uninstall()

In modern Windows 10/11 builds and Windows Server 2022/2019/2016, you can use the built-in PowerShell Package Management cmdlets to install or uninstall apps. Originally, the module was used to install/uninstall PowerShell modules. However, you may use it to uninstall Win32 programs, MSU updates, and apps installed using MSI installers as well.

You can use this module to uninstall Win32 apps and PS modules only. To remove UWP apps from Microsoft Store, use the Remove-AppxPackage or Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage PowerShell cmdlets (see an example in this article).
